TAPA Center offers Net/tele conference on prioritizing and designing options for jail diversion
On Friday, October 17, the TAPA Center for Jail Diversion, a branch of the National GAINS Center for People with Co-Occurring Disorders in the Justice System, will present a Net/tele training conference from 1:00-2:30 pm E.S.T. to discuss jail diversion for adults with serious mental illness. Participants will listen to the presentation via telephone (toll-free) while viewing a PowerPoint presentation via the internet (optional).
National jail diversion experts Dr. Henry J. Steadman and Dr. Patricia Griffin will cover the following topics:
- Recent national program and policy developments related to jail diversion
- What is (and isnt) jail diversion
- Overview of the continuum of jail diversion options, from pre-booking to post-booking programs
- Variations in mental health court features
