The conference, Psychiatrists in Blue, brought together law enforcement and mental health professionals, advocates, and researchers to learn more about specialized police responses to people with mental illnesses. In her keynote address, Ms. Reuland discussed the variety of ways jurisdictions have sought to address this problem and common elements among different types of specialized responses.
