TAPA Center to Conduct Net/Tele Conference on Evaluating Jail Diversion Outcomes
The TAPA Center for Jail Diversion, a branch of the National GAINS Center, will conduct an online/telephone conference, "Evaluating Jail Diversion Outcomes: Making the Case for Jail Diversion." The conference will be held
on Tuesday, February 22, from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm EST.
Participants will listen to the presentation via telephone on a toll-free connection. Participants will also have the opportunity to view a PowerPoint presentation online.
The Net/Tele Conference will review the basics of conducting a program evaluation of jail diversion outcomes on a shoestring and presenting findings to make the case for jail diversion. Judge Steven Leifman, Associate Administrative Judge for Floridas Eleventh Judicial Circuit, will describe how to use program evaluation results to demonstrate the value of and secure support and funding for jail diversion programs. Dr. Henry J. Steadman,
President of Policy Research Associates, Inc. and Director of the TAPA Center for Jail Diversion, will provide
practical advice on outcomes evaluation, focusing on:
- How to approach outcomes evaluation
- What data to collect
- Where to collect the data
- How to interpret and effectively present data.
