Description:
Montgomery County has had a Mental Health Court for several years at the level of circuit court (felonies) and now plans to expand the program to the level of district court to include all three misdemeanor courts. The overall mental health caseload will double to 60 individuals. The judge most involved with this expansion has visited other mental health courts and plans to visit a Bureau of Justice Assistance Mental Health Court Learning Site.
