NAMI-NYS co-sponsored a criminal justice/mental health conference in Albany NY at which time Sgt. Eric Weaver of fthe Rochester PD---EdPRT response Team presented. Thereafter, the Rensselaer County Mental Health Dept. and theTroy PD took steps to establish a program. Eric Weaver coordinated the training in January 2006 and the first 10 officers were trained and put on the street as EDPRT officers.Additional training is expected.
