Consensus Project Launches New Online Discussion Forum Tool
The Justice Center is excited to announce the launch of a new online discussion forum, where policymakers and practitioners from across the country can exchange ideas, ask questions of each other and national experts, offer comments and suggestions, and network around their collaborative criminal justice/mental health initiatives. The forum, funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Office of Justice Programs, U. S. Department of Justice, can be accessed at http://consensusproject.org/forums.
The forum represents an online community for Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program grantees, applicants, and the field at large. It was developed to foster an open exchange of ideas around the design and implementation of criminal justice/mental health initiatives, and for policymakers and practitioners to share their, insights, experiences, and strategies.
"We are excited to be able to partner with the Council of State Governments Justice Center to make this opportunity available to the field," says BJA Acting Associate Deputy Director Ruby Qazilbash. "We hope that the Consensus Project Forum will allow for an informative dialogue among practitioners and give all of us the opportunity to share knowledge that will result in improved responses to people with mental illness involved in the criminal justice system."

What can you do with the new online discussion forum?

The forum is the latest addition to a suite of online resources developed by the Justice Center, including the Local Programs Database (LPD) , which catalogues collaborative criminal justice/mental health initiatives from around the country. Used together, the forum and LPD provide the field with a means to search for detailed information about existing programs, and to interact directly with program designers and administrators.
